  1. General Summary of Position

 

Operates punch presses, spot welders, riveters, and various secondary equipment/tooling by hand to fabricate a variety of steel springs, stampings, and assemblies.

 

  1. Essential Duties

 

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Bends, forms, or assembles products to specifications as required using manual and automatic equipment such as winders, kick presses, punch presses, spot welders, pneumatic formers, etc.
  • Interprets drawings, specification sheets, routers, and other related documentation to determine all product requirements.
  • Performs in-process inspections on work to ensure conformance to specifications.
  • Ensures proper identification of work in process and finished goods.
  • Ensures proper identification and segregation of non-conforming and scrap product.
  • Reports wear and improper adjustment on tools and equipment to supervisor.
  • Reports safety concerns to supervisor.
  • Cleans work area.
  • Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed.
  • Other projects and duties as required/assigned.
  • Follows Company policies and procedures.

 

  • Supervisory Responsibilities

 

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

 

  1. Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Able to read and comprehend instructions
  • Able to add and subtract numbers
  • Able to use measuring tools including but not limited to calipers, dial indicators, load testers, scales, etc.
  • Able to effectively communicate with supervisor and coworkers
  • Attention to detail
  • Good manual dexterity
