  • The Quality Control Inspector confirms product quality within the company and supports process improvement, while complying with all aspects of the company Quality Management System.

 This role will report directly to Quality Manager.

 Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform incoming and final inspection.
  • Record, analyze, and report the outcome of quality inspections.
  • Operate coordinate measuring machine (CMM)
  • Perform gage and tool calibration.
  • Maintain calibration records.
  • Work well with all levels of the organization.
  • Exhibit safe work habits adhering to all PPE and OSHA requirements for assigned area.
  • Perform other quality functions as assigned.

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications: (To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.)

  • High School graduate, or general education degree required
  • Ability to read and interpret manufacturing drawings, technical documents and standards.
  • Strong communication skills, with an ability to maintain attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to use precision measuring instruments, such as calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, e.g.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Strong mathematical skills.  Working knowledge of basic algebra and geometry.  Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
  • Prior quality experience in a machine shop environment preferred.
  • Prior CMM operating and PC-DMIS programming experience preferred.

 Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Strategic and creative thinking to analyze issues that may arise and create solutions.
  • Ability to respond positively to feedback and implement change in process and procedures as needed.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to maintain a clean work environment
  • Ability to work overtime as required.

  • Employee is regularly required to talk and hear.
  • Employee is regularly required to stand for 5 hours at a time, without breaks.
  • Employee is regularly required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move 50 pounds.
  • Employee is regularly required to walk for up to 8 hours a day.
  • Employee is regularly required to see and observe small handwriting, labels, and components.
  • Employee is regularly required to wear a safety shoes and safety glasses at all times. Must have the ability to wear hearing protection when in production areas that require it.  
  • Employee is required to be on site during scheduled shift to perform daily duties and responsibilities.
  • Requires daily face-to-face interaction with employees on production floor.

 Work Environment: (The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.)

  • The employee will frequently work in a production area with exposure to extreme cold or hot weather conditions. At times may be in a temperature-controlled office environment, with frequent exposure to electronic office equipment.  May occasionally be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, and loud noise while on the production floor.
