Job Description

Our client a manufacturing company in the Wilkes-Barre Area seeks an off-shift Supervisor. This is a full-time position, Monday - Friday, with overtime as needed.

Duties:

This position is responsible for overseeing the operations of the manufacturing plant during off-shift hours. They are required to manage a team of operators and ensure that all production targets are met while adhering to quality standards and safety protocols. The supervisor will be required to troubleshoot and resolve any issues that may arise during the off shifts. The successful candidate will have experience in a manufacturing environment, strong leadership and communication skills, and the ability to work independently.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee and manage the operations of the manufacturing plant during off-shift hours.
  2. Supervise a team of operators, providing leadership and guidance.
  3. Ensure production targets are met while maintaining quality standards and adhering to safety protocols.
  4. Troubleshoot and resolve any production issues that may arise.
  5. Monitor and enforce compliance with safety regulations and best practices.
  6. Train and develop employees to improve their skills and knowledge.
  7. Participate in meetings and contribute to process improvement discussions as required.
  8. Work collaboratively with other supervisors and management to achieve company goals and objectives.

Qualifications Required:

  1. Must have prior supervisory experience, preferably in a Manufacturing environment.
  2. High school diploma or equivalent plus the ability to pass a basic math skill assessment.
  3. 5+ years working with metal fabricating equipment.
  4. 5+ years' experience working in an industrial environment.
  5. Requires mathematical computation skills.
  6. Requires good computer skills - Microsoft Office, Word, Excel
  7. Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot issues as they arise.
  8. Ability to delegate and coordinate work.
  9. Individual exercises decision-making within policy guidelines

Qualifications Desired:

  1. Trade school diploma or certification
  2. 3 years in a Supervisory capacity, working for a manufacturing company.
  3. Working knowledge of ISO standards
  4. Working knowledge of lean methodologies
  5. Formal OSHA/Safety training
  6. Union workplace experience preferred
