Hours: 7:30am-4:30pm or 8am-4:30pm; Monday through Friday

Job Summary:

The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for overseeing day-to-day dispatch operations of a private fleet, ensuring safe, compliant, and cost-effective execution of all transportation activities. This role is the lead for drivers, balancing service performance, route optimization and continuous improvement initiatives while supporting leadership with data analysis and operational insights. This role is also the lead for working with 3PL carriers and external warehouses. The ideal candidate will provide a detailed plan of capacity and support by coordinating with local sites, customers and raw material vendors.

Essential Functions:

· Coordinate daily routing and dispatch for local and regional drivers

· Monitor load execution to ensure on-time pickup and delivery performance

· Proactively resolve service disruptions and make real-time decisions (delays, breakdowns, staffing gaps)

· Build and execute daily load plans across internal and external capacity

· Optimize routing to minimize empty miles and maximize asset utilization

· Ensure efficient driver utilization and schedule adherence balancing workload across drivers

· Monitor Hours of Service (HOS) and route compliance and the be the owner of such

· Coordinate with brokers, warehouse and 3PL services

· Reinforce expectations around safety, service and communication standards

· Complete onboarding and training of new drivers and dispatch personnel

· Ensure all monthly trainings are completed by all staff drivers and dispatch (company, ELD and Compliance)

· Source capacity for overflow freight and service –sensitive shipments

· Manage tendering, rate uploads and load tracking

· Monitor carrier performance (on-time %, communication, service reliability)

· Resolve service failures, accessorial disputes and claims

· Own the dispatch of all company drivers and load tendering to external carriers

· Provide direction on prioritization, problem-solving and escalation handling

· Ensure private fleet compliance with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulations

· Strong ownership of ELD data, HOS adherence and safety performance

· Support incident investigations and corrective actions

· Analyze route efficiency, empty miles and cost per mile standards

· Identify opportunities to reduce deadhead, detention and overtime

· Partner with external vendors to ensure maintenance and equipment availably and utilization

· Communicate capacity constraints and service risks proactively

· Support continuous improvement initiatives across transportation operations

· Coordinate raw material management between Sourcing, Supply Chain, and Central Planning

· Lead and ensure End-of-Month activities are successfully executed

· Develop and maintain dashboards for leadership visibility

· Use data to driver continuous improvement initiatives

· Maintain accurate and audit ready transportation records

· Align transportation execution on customer requirements and business priorities

· Other duties as assigned by a Supervisor and or Manager

Work Experience:

· At least 3-5 years in transportation, logistics with fleet dispatch

· Experience in managing or supporting a private fleet operation

· Proficiency in TMS, ELD systems and excel data / data analysis

· Strong understanding of routing, HOS, and transportation compliance

· Ability to make real-time operational decisions under pressure

· Experience with both local and regional operations

· Familiarity with cost modeling and KPI dashboards

· SAP ERP experience is preferred
