One line operator for 6pm-6am Monday through Thursday    $19.80 per hour to start

Position Summary

The Manufacturing Technician will be a key member of the production team, cross-trained to operate both the Foaming Oven and the Extrusion Line. This position is responsible for safely and efficiently producing high-quality materials according to established standards, performing in-process quality checks, maintaining production data, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Foaming Operations

• Operate and monitor the foaming oven to ensure consistent production and optimal efficiency.
• Perform quality checks using micrometers, scales, and other measurement tools to verify product specifications.
• Remove finished rolls from the oven and package them according to standard procedures.
• Accurately track and record production metrics, downtime, and material usage in the MRP system.
• Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and maintain a clean, organized work area.

Extrusion Operations

• Operate extrusion equipment to meet daily production and quality targets.
• Perform product changeovers, including gapping rolls and dies using feeler gauges.
• Troubleshoot and make process adjustments to maintain consistent product quality.
• Remove completed rolls from the machine and prepare them for downstream processing or shipment.
• Record production data and material usage accurately in the MRP system.

General Responsibilities

• Follow all safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
• Participate in cross-training and support both foaming and extrusion operations as needed.
• Communicate effectively with team members, maintenance, and supervision regarding equipment performance or process issues.
• Support continuous improvement efforts focused on quality, efficiency, and waste reduction.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or vocational training preferred.
• Prior experience in a manufacturing or extrusion environment preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret technical instructions, SOPs, and measurement tools (micrometers, feeler gauges, scales, etc.).
• Basic computer literacy and experience using MRP or production tracking systems.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
