Benefits Representative

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Customer Service Representative to join our dynamic team at the leading benefits brokerage firm in NEPA. As a key member of our customer care team, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of health insurance enrollment, managing Summary Plan Documents (SPDs), facilitating renewals, and providing exceptional support to clients and their employees. Your ability to handle inquiries with professionalism, accuracy, and a positive attitude is crucial to our success in delivering outstanding service to our clients.

Salary: starting at 40k

Schedule : Mon- Friday day shift

 

Responsibilities:

  1. Enrollment Assistance:
  • Assist clients and their employees in navigating the health insurance enrollment process.
  • Provide comprehensive information about available health insurance plans, coverage options, and enrollment deadlines.
  • Guide clients through online enrollment platforms and address any technical issues they encounter.
  • Collaborate with insurance carriers to troubleshoot enrollment discrepancies and ensure timely resolution.
  1. Timely and Positive Customer Interaction:
  • Respond to client inquiries, concerns, and requests via various communication channels (phone, email, chat) in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Handle customer interactions with empathy, patience, and a positive demeanor, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Address and resolve customer complaints and issues professionally, escalating matters as necessary.
  1. Employee Questions Handling:
  • Assist employees of our clients in understanding their health insurance benefits, coverage, and claims procedures.
  • Offer clear explanations and guidance to employees, empowering them to make informed decisions regarding their healthcare options.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve employee inquiries related to claims, billing, and plan details.
  1. Summary Plan Documents (SPDs):
  • Educate clients and employees about SPDs, explaining coverage details, limitations, and exclusions.
  • Distribute and explain SPDs to clients as required by law and ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Address any queries related to SPDs, clarifying information and resolving concerns promptly.
  1. Renewal Management:
  • Coordinate the renewal process for existing health insurance plans, working closely with clients and insurance carriers.
  • Provide detailed renewal information, including changes in coverage, premiums, and renewal timelines.
  • Proactively communicate renewal options to clients, helping them make informed decisions based on their needs.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • Bilingual English and Spanish
  • Previous experience in customer service, ideally within the health insurance industry or a brokerage firm.
  • Strong understanding of health insurance plans, coverage types, and related terminologies.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex concepts in a clear and concise manner.
  • Proficiency in using customer relationship management (CRM) software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing situations and client needs.
  • Empathetic and patient approach when dealing with customer inquiries and concerns.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment and independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, ensuring accurate and thorough documentation.
  • Positive and upbeat attitude even in challenging situations, fostering a positive customer experience.
