Our client a Company in the Scranton Area seeks an experienced Accountant. You will play an integral role in maintaining the Company’s accounting records and transactions in accordance with prescribed Company policies. The role participates in the financial closing process including Income Statement and Balance Sheet preparation, account analysis/reconciliation of general ledger accounts, maintaining the standard cost system and the preparation of various journal entries.
Job Responsibilities:
• Maintains financial reports, records, and general ledger accounts
• Prepares journal entries, analyses, and assists with monthly close processes
• Performs monthly balance sheet reconciliations
• Ensures monthly accounting close and reconciliation activities are completed on time and accurately
• Reconciles inter-company activity
• Responds to information requests, reviews financial statements, and assists with audits
• Assists with AR and AP functions as required
• Monitors and continually improves the internal control environment
• Develops and implements process improvements on an on-going basis
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance with two years’ relevant work experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
• Strong background in budget and general accounting principles/practices
