Job Description

Wyoming Valley West School Districts seeks a Director of Operations and Facilities Management. The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership to the School District to ensure a safe and sanitary environment for students, staff and the community.


The director will provide direction, oversight, and coordination of all functions and activities of the facilities management departments, including Engineering, Plant Operations, and Facilities Management. The Director of Operations and Facilities Management will assume overall responsibility for the safe and efficient functioning, maintenance and operation of all buildings, equipment, machinery, systems, and grounds keeping for the school district. The director has oversight of budgets, staffing, short- and long-range planning, program development, policy and procedure for all facilities department, construction/renovation operations, landscape operations, campus planning, contractors, maintenance and repair programs.


• Plans, improves, and maintains all school district owned facilities and equipment.
• Provides strategic leadership and vision for the department
• Monitors day to day activities and work of staff
• Directs, manages, and coordinates with the functional authority for planning, organization, control, and integration to ensure completion of projects.
• Manages activities concerning technical development and scheduling.
• Establishes and manages budgets and productivity targets. Controls expenditures within the limitations of the project and department budget.
• Ensures maintenance of physical structures, HVAC, mechanical, electrical systems, utility systems, and grounds are always in operative and safe working condition.
• Ensures that the School District is following all local, state, and federal codes and regulations.
• Implementation and Management of the of Electronic Work Order System.
• Attend all Monthly School Board Meetings, Building and Grounds Committee Meetings

MUST HAVES
• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent professional experience.
• A minimum of 5 years of management experience, with a proven track record in leading facilities management, engineering, or business/operations services.
• Demonstrated ability to provide strategic leadership
• Exceptional client relationship skills with a focus on maintaining internal and external customer satisfaction, aligning school districts mission and vision.
• Strong technical knowledge of facilities systems, including HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and utility systems, ensuring all systems are in safe and operative condition.
• In-depth knowledge of and experience with regulatory compliance and local, state, and federal regulations.
• Proven ability to establish and manage budgets, control expenditures, and meet productivity targets within department and project constraints.
• Valid Pennsylvania Driver's License along with the ability to pass all applicable clearances for employment within the school district

Pay range is $90K - $105K
